Lineage

From Minneapolis to the North Shore.

Audiofile started in 2004 as a Minneapolis studio building native audio software for the Mac. The work moved north to Two Harbors in 2017. The team has shipped software, firmware, and integrated hardware for Apple platforms since before the advent of the App Store.

Studio

A small white building in the forest.

Two Harbors sits on Lake Superior, the greatest of the great lakes — iron ore from the Mesabi Range still ships out from the docks, the railroad still runs, the Superior Hiking Trail passes through, the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness begins. The studio is at the edge of it.

Practice

Apps and product development.

Audiofile builds two ways. A first-party app catalog — software for producers, musicians, and audio engineers — and a contract engineering practice for music and pro audio brands. Both run on the Audiofile Engine, a realtime, mastering-grade core for professional systems.
